We’ve all been there. You wake up feeling grouchy, get a frustrating start to the day, the stage seems to be set. Today is going to suck. Your nerves are shot and your attitude is terrible. The day gets more irritating as you go on, and by the end of it, you are ready to run screaming from your life. Everyone has those days from time to time. Bad moods happen. With a little work, you can shift that bad mood into something better, before your day disintegrates into a big mess. 1- Awareness is...

Spring has really sprung here in Idaho and the weather couldn't be more volatile. In the last week we have experienced gale force winds, snow, driving rain, hail and beautiful sunny days. It's a lot to keep up with. I have become much more mindful about how much the weather affects my mood. As it turns out, it's not really fair to snap your kids head off because it's raining outside! All of this moisture is greening up the forests. Scott and I have spent many days this last week wandering...

It is interesting to me that during times of stress or trauma, we frequently forget to use our spiritual tools to seek peace and comfort. I know that I do it, and I have seen so many of my clients do the same thing. I thought that it might be useful to make a top 10 list to fall back on in times of trouble. Not everything on my list will resonate with you. I hope that you use this as a springboard to create your own. 1- Meditate, in any way that you see fit. It doesn’t have to be a ton, 15...

Fun with Social Distancing: Since I am stuck at home, too, I have been working on a list of things that I can do to make good use of this time. My kids will all be home by the end of tomorrow. I know that they will be climbing the walls. And indeed, to protect me, they have to get it through their heads that this is not a time to run and play. Social distancing only works if we all buy in. I have noticed a few people posting pictures of themselves in empty restaurants and other venues mocking...

Years ago, I was working for the State of Idaho, mentoring child care providers. The job took me all over the eastern part of the state. One day when I had some time to kill, I wandered into an enormous old used bookstore. The building looked and smelled like some kind of old-time saloon in a ghost town. Ancient, dusty and dark. Hundreds of shelves held books by the thousands, from floor to ceiling. The aisles were lit by an occasionally bare bulb hanging from the ceiling. It was early spring...

Psychic Games Last week, I hosted a Divination Panel over at 12Radio.com. I was joined by two lovely colleagues, Crisann Morgan and Caroline Nettle. We discussed all things divination and shared a few of our favorite techniques. You can listen to both hours of our panel here: Part 1:https://share.transistor.fm/s/0d5cefa5 Part 2:https://share.transistor.fm/s/75b3baae This experience got me thinking about some of the psychic games that I used to play with my students and my own kids to help them...

I have really been drawn all things Goddess for many years now. I love the old Goddess mythology, Egyptian tales, etc. I LOVE that the oldest depictions of the Goddess show a very round, chubby, mommy shaped Goddess. In fact, when I saw pictures of that, I though, “My god, maybe I am the Goddess. She is shaped just like me!”

If this has happened to you, this is a familiar story. You feel off, weird... not yourself. You are air headed and anxious with a brain that won't slow down. You think you know what is wrong. You are ungrounded! You've been here before, right? You know what to do. Perhaps you grab a dark crystal or slip into a sea salt bath. Maybe you kick off your shoes and head outside to connect your bare feet to earth. Maybe you meditate and perform some energy work to try to balance that root.

Work, right? We all need income but it can so hard to thrive in toxic or hectic work environments. If you are coming home at the end of the day feeling completely wiped out, combative and emotionally exhausted, these tips are for you!

When I was 11 years old, I won a ride in a hot air balloon. 30 years later I am reflecting on how I allowed a negative experience to overshadow all of the wonder of the ride. It is a good life lesson to me.
